These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of electrical and building services by Quantract Electrical & Building Services Ltd (Company No. 13893644) ("we", "our", "us") to you ("the Client"). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2.1. All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
2.2. Quotations are based on the information provided by the Client. Any changes to the scope of work may result in additional charges.
2.3. Quotations exclude VAT unless specifically stated otherwise.
2.4. We reserve the right to revise quotations if site conditions differ from those described or if additional work is required to meet current regulations.
3.1. A contract is formed when you accept our quotation in writing or when we commence work at your request.
3.2. These Terms and Conditions form part of the contract between us.
4.1. Payment terms will be specified in the quotation or invoice.
4.2. For larger projects, we may require staged payments as work progresses.
4.3. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed.
4.4. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.
4.5. We reserve the right to suspend work if payments are not made in accordance with agreed terms.
5.1. We will carry out all work with reasonable skill and care in accordance with BS 7671 and other relevant standards.
5.2. We will provide appropriate certification for all electrical work carried out.
5.3. We will notify Building Control where required by regulations.
5.4. We maintain appropriate insurance including Public Liability, Employers' Liability, and Professional Indemnity.
6.1. The Client must provide accurate information about the property and any existing installations.
6.2. The Client must provide safe access to the work area and ensure the site is cleared of personal belongings.
6.3. The Client must inform us of any known hazards including asbestos.
6.4. The Client is responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions from landlords or freeholders.
7.1. Any variations to the agreed scope of work must be agreed in writing.
7.2. Additional work required to meet current regulations or due to unforeseen site conditions will be charged at our standard rates.
7.3. We will inform the Client of any additional work required and obtain approval before proceeding where reasonably practicable.
8.1. We will make reasonable efforts to complete work within agreed timescales.
8.2. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control including adverse weather, material shortages, or access issues.
8.3. The Client must inform us immediately if access to the site will not be available as planned.
9.1. We guarantee our workmanship for a period of 12 months from completion.
9.2. Manufacturer warranties apply to materials and equipment as per the manufacturer's terms.
9.3. Our guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modifications, or normal wear and tear.
10.1. Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the contract or £10 million, whichever is lower (subject to our insurance coverage).
10.2. We are not liable for consequential losses including loss of profits or business interruption.
10.3. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
11.1. Unless otherwise agreed, we will use materials appropriate for the purpose.
11.2. If the Client supplies materials, we are not responsible for their quality or suitability.
11.3. Materials remain our property until payment is received in full.
12.1. We will conduct all work in accordance with health and safety legislation.
12.2. The Client must ensure the site is safe and inform us of any known hazards.
12.3. We reserve the right to stop work if we identify unsafe conditions.
13.1. The Client may cancel a contract by giving written notice.
13.2. Cancellation charges may apply for work already completed, materials ordered, and reasonable costs incurred.
13.3. For domestic contracts, statutory cooling-off periods apply where work is arranged away from our business premises.
14.1. We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection legislation.
14.2. We may retain project information and records for legal and regulatory purposes.
15.1. We aim to provide excellent service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us immediately.
15.2. We will investigate all complaints and aim to resolve them promptly.
15.3. As an NAPIT Approved Contractor, certain complaints may be referred to NAPIT for resolution.
16.1. These terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
16.2. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
16.3. We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of contract formation applies.
