When Do You Need Rewiring?
Properties typically need rewiring every 25-30 years, or when the existing installation no longer meets current safety standards. Signs your property may need rewiring include frequent tripping, old-style fuse boxes, fabric-covered cables, discoloured sockets, or burning smells.
What's Included
Complete Rewire
Full replacement of all electrical wiring throughout the property. Includes new consumer unit with RCD protection, updated circuits for all rooms, and new sockets and switches positioned to your requirements.
Partial Rewire
Targeted rewiring of specific areas or circuits. Ideal for extensions, renovations, or when only certain parts of the installation require updating.
Consumer Unit Replacement
Upgrade from old fuse boxes to modern consumer units with circuit breakers and RCD protection. Essential safety improvement that can often be completed in a single day.
Our Rewiring Process
1. Initial Survey
We assess your current installation, identify issues, and recommend the most appropriate solution. You'll receive a detailed quotation with no hidden costs.
2. Planning
We agree the scope of works, socket and switch positions, and timescales. For occupied properties, we plan the work to minimise disruption.
3. First Fix
Installation of new cables and back boxes. This involves lifting floorboards and chasing walls where necessary.
4. Second Fix
Fitting of sockets, switches, light fittings, and the new consumer unit once any plastering or decoration is complete.
5. Testing & Certification
Comprehensive testing to BS 7671 standards, with full Electrical Installation Certificate provided.
Minimising Disruption
We understand that having your property rewired can be disruptive. We work efficiently to complete the job as quickly as possible, maintain a clean working environment, and can often keep power available to essential circuits during the work. For occupied properties, we can work room by room to allow you to continue living in your home.
